About Ian

My Story

I’ve been around dogs my whole life. Growing up, there was always a dog in the house, and I developed a real connection with them early on — especially Spaniels.

My own Springer Spaniels have always been trained as working dogs, doing what the breed was born to do. There’s something special about watching a dog thrive when they’re using their natural instincts.

Klein-lea started almost by accident. Friends kept asking me to help with their dogs after seeing how mine behaved. Turns out I had a knack for it, and I loved doing it.

There’s nothing quite like watching a nervous dog grow in confidence, or seeing an owner finally enjoy walks again. That’s what gets me out of bed in the morning.

My Approach

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. Every dog is different, and what works for one might not work for another.

I focus on understanding each dog as an individual — their personality, their history, what motivates them. Then we build from there, at a pace that works for them.

Patience and flexibility are key. I’d rather take a bit longer and get lasting results than rush and have things fall apart.
